Pennsylvania Tort Reform: Success!
Less than 24 hours after SB 1131, Fair Shares, was passed and signed in the Legislature, Gov. Tom Corbett signed it into law. SB 1131, better known as the Fair Shares Act, makes reforms in the process of how damages are recovered in civil lawsuits. Under the Act, each defendant pays only his share of the judgment as opposed to having joint responsibility for the full amount.
