Massachusetts AG Expected to Propose Sweeping New Regulations for Auto Insurance

NAMIC has learned that Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley is planning to invoke her own statutory power to promulgate sweeping new regulations that would make a wide range of acts and practices violations of the state’s consumer protection law, exposing insurers to damages multipliers and punitive damages.
