NAMIC Continues the Fight to Incentivize the Adoption of Statewide Enforceable Building Codes
Although much of the property/casualty industry's focus during the 111th Congress has been on the financial crisis and regulatory reform legislation, NAMIC has remained on the legislative offensive in several areas. One such area is the adoption of enforceable statewide building codes. The promotion of building codes leads to stronger homes and businesses that are better prepared to survive the effects of major natural catastrophes, saving policyholders, insurers, and taxpayers money in the long run.
