NAMIC Efforts Pay Off as Flood Reform Passes the House

The U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 1309, the Flood Insurance Reform Act of 2011, July 12 by an overwhelming vote of 406-22. During consideration, NAMIC led a joint effort to defeat an amendment proposed by Rep. Candice Miller, R-Mich., to terminate the NFIP in less than six months and winning passage for this bipartisan, common sense reform bill.
