Maine: High Court Modifies Standard for Permissive Use of an Auto
Despite being urged by NAMIC and others not to modify its test to determine whether a driver is a permissive user and therefore insured under an auto insurance policy, Maine’s Supreme Judicial Court announced a new standard that will make it harder to show that a driver was not a permissive user and thus entitled to coverage.
