How Does It Feel?
Anyone who enjoys old movies – no, not movies of the 1980s; I mean old movies – knows that Hollywood may have been at its best in the late ‘30s and ‘40s. Call me sappy, but “It’s a Wonderful Life” (1946) still gets my vote as one of the best films of all time (right up there with the relatively more recent 1986’s “Hoosiers”). One of the most memorable, enduring, and entertaining genres to come out of this golden era of filmmaking was the screwball comedy in which everything was a juxtaposition … male and female, educated and uneducated, rich and poor, honest and dishonest.
