Arizona: Legislation Designed to Promote Underwriting Freedom Dies in House

HB 2017 died in the House Feb. 17 according to legislative procedural deadlines because it didn’t have a timely committee hearing in either the House Committee on Banking and Insurance or House Committee on Government. The bill would have allowed insurers to consider an applicant’s or policyholder’s address and zip code in the insurance scoring underwriting and rating process.
