Broad New Financial Regulations Based on International Agreements

The Federal Reserve voted June 7 to put out for comment a proposed rule to implement broad new capital standards for U.S. banks. These rules apply to banks and not insurance companies, but Congress, insurance regulators, and particularly the Federal Insurance Office will certainly look to these banking regulations in future policy decisions.
