Alabama: Slow Progress on Statewide Building Code
The Alabama Energy and Residential Codes Board met for the second time last Thursday to consider a statewide building code. Legislation passed in 2010 gave the AERC Board authority to adopt mandatory residential and commercial codes for the entire state and residential building codes for jurisdictions that had not implemented a residential building code prior to March 2010.
