Transparency Working Group Will Focus on Mechanisms for Comparing Premiums

The Transparency and Readability of Consumer Information (C) Working Group has held three conference calls since it first met at the NAIC spring meeting in Austin. The teleconferences have consisted entirely of discussions related to the development of “best practices” for the design and implementation of web-based consumer premium comparison guides for personal auto and homeowners insurance. That project directly pertains to one of the group’s three charges and is probably the least ominous for NAMIC members.
