The House Business and Financial Services Committee will be conducting a public hearing this Friday on Committee Chair Steve Kirby’s proposed legislation, HB 1690, which requires auto repair facilities to provide a new non-original equipment manufacturer parts consumer disclosure and requires consumers whose vehicles are less than five years old or still under manufacturer’s warranty to specifically authorize in writing the use of "non-original equipment manufacturer crash part," as defined by the bill, in the automobile repair.
