Rhode Island: Budget Provision Would Force Insurers to Purchase Motor Vehicle Reports Every Three Years

A provision in Gov. Chafee’s proposed budget currently being considered by legislators would force insurers to purchase motor vehicle reports from the state every three years, a requirement that would add millions to the state’s coffers at the expense of insurers and policyholders.
