NAMIC Releases Public Policy Paper on Aftermarket Cosmetic Crash Parts, Auto Repair Networks

NAMIC released today its latest Issue Analysis paper, “Consumer Choice in Automobile Repair: The Politics and Economics of Automobile Repair Practices,” examining insurers’ use of aftermarket cosmetic crash parts and direct repair programs. NAMIC-member representatives attending last year’s Public Policy Summit selected the topic, an issue many believe is important to their companies now and in the future. A growing trend within the auto repair industry is the intensified efforts to pass bills restricting consumer options regarding auto repair and deliberately limiting information insurers can make available to consumers.
