RE: Iowa SF 466 (Consumer Protection from Storm Scammers)

"Iowa lawmakers placed a large 'Storm Scammers Not Welcome Sign' on the state's border Thursday when they sent to the governor Senate File 466 to increase protections for consumers from scam artists who prey on vulnerable citizens after natural disasters.

"Senate File 466 will benefit homeowners and repair contractors with strong roots in the community by establishing clear contract terms and business practices for post-catastrophe repair work. Iowa lawmakers are to be commended for this important consumer protection step."
