Senate Passes Farm Bill With Crop Insurance Adjustments
The Senate completed work on the 2012 Farm Bill late last week, after nearly two weeks of negotiations, procedural votes, and votes on 73 amendments, several of which targeted the crop insurance industry. While crop insurers and agriculture groups were able to head off the most damaging amendment to the industry, some tweaks were still made that will affect some farmers who purchase crop insurance.
