Oregon: NAMIC Files Written Testimony Opposing the Unfair Trade Practices Act, 1st and 3rd Party Bad Faith Bill
The Senate General Government, Consumer and Small Business Protection Committee held a public hearing March 16 on SB 719, a bill that would amend the Oregon Unlawful Trade Practices Act to include insurance, with workers compensation expressly excluded, in the definition of “real estate, goods or services” for purposes of the UTPA, and makes unfair claims settlement practices an unlawful trade practice.
