Iowa: Trial Bar’s Bill Increasing Damages in Wrongful Death Lawsuits Expected to Come Up Today
This year, NAMIC has sent two alerts on this bill. We thank those who responded, however, as the legislative session winds down, we are going to the well one more time requesting that you to call your state senator asking for a “no” vote on HF 758, which would amend the wrongful death lawsuit law by creating a measure of damages for the deceased’s “loss of enjoyment of life.” These damages are in addition to the economic loss the family has sustained.
