Senate and Administration Shifting Away From Consumer Financial Protection Agency

One of the key elements of financial services regulatory reform efforts championed by the Obama Administration and congressional leadership has been the creation of a new independent entity called the Consumer Financial Protection Agency (CFPA). The CFPA would oversee all consumer protection with regard to consumer financial products and services.
