SAN DIEGO (September 20, 2010) – Members of the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies descended upon San Diego this past weekend to meet for the 115th Annual Convention that officially kicked off today.
NAMIC’s 2009-2010 chairman, John T. Hill II, officially opened the event, reflecting on his year as chairman and speaking about the observations he has made within the industry as well as within the association while he had been a part of both.
“I am convinced that there is a kinship we feel as part of this industry and this association,” Hill said during his speech. “It seems to me to be a natural consequence of being in the mutual insurance business – a business that is organized and dedicated on a daily basis to the service of others. This kinship is wonderful to experience, and to all of you, I say thank you.”
The three-day event, which has been expected to draw more than 1,800 people, is packed full of speakers, educational sessions, and more. Key speakers include Jim Collins, author, business consultant, and founder of a management laboratory; Ari Fleischer, former White House press secretary; and Mark King, president and CEO of TaylorMade-adidas. NAMIC will induct its 2010-2011 chairman of the board during the final general session on Wednesday.
