Last week I spoke at the Florida Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Insurance Summit in Orlando to a roomful of insurance industry representatives, regulators, legislators, and policymakers. In my keynote address – “Florida in the National Picture” – I spoke about the view of Florida in the national insurance picture and made all the points you’d expect about eliminating rate suppression, depopulating Citizens, and reforming the economically unsound Florida Hurricane Catastrophe Fund in this heavily populated and disaster-prone state.
