Florida: NAMIC-Sponsored Insurance Summit Unites Policymakers, Business Leaders; Reform Legislation Already Being Discussed in Legislative Committees
For the second year in a row, NAMIC was a major sponsor of the Florida Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Insurance Summit, which was held last week in Orlando. More than 250 attendees, including Chamber members, insurance industry representatives, elected officials, and government agency staff, discussed steps needed to restore competition and choice for consumers in the homeowners’ insurance market, concerns over the solvency of private insurers, and ways to reduce taxpayer exposure in state-run Citizens Property Insurance Corporation and the Florida Hurricane Catastrophe Fund.
