Farm Bill Arrives on Senate Floor

In a lopsided 90-8 vote, the Senate on June 7 passed a procedural motion to put the Farm Bill on the floor, setting it up for debate and votes on a host of amendments including one that would potentially cut crop insurance. Because of the support the motion garnered, the House Agriculture Committee moved up its markup date to June 18 in anticipation of House floor debate in July.
