The Market Regulation Accreditation (EX) Task Force met last Tuesday afternoon to discuss the current accreditation proposal. Numerous comments had been submitted since the Seattle meeting by both regulators and industry representatives. While the regulators were generally supportive of the current proposal, industry representatives were generally opposed. Most objections involve lack of a clear statement of the purpose and goal of the program, lack of domestic deference, lack of measurable results, and lack of showing any benefit to insurers.
