Arizona: Battle to Oppose Anti-Consumer Rental Car Primary Coverage Shifting Bill Moves to House

SB 1286 squeaked out of the Senate March 1 on third reading on a 16-14 vote and has now been sent to the House for committee assignment. The proposed legislation would only require that a rental car company provide “excess” liability coverage to the limits of the Financial Responsibility Law, 15/30/10 liability coverage limits, for insured vehicle renters and “primary” liability insurance coverage to the limits of the Financial Responsibility Law for uninsured vehicle renters.
