Credit-Based Insurance Scoring

A revised version of the NAIC’s proposed Risk Classification Survey Instrument was posted on the NAIC website just a day or two prior to the NAIC spring meeting in Austin, Texas. The agenda for the Monday meeting of the Property & Casualty Insurance (C) Committee also included an item titled “Consider Adoption of the Risk Classification Survey Instrument.” The survey, a pet project of Illinois Insurance Director Michael McRaith, is intended to provide consumers with information about how credit-based insurance scores can impact their automobile insurance rates.
