Carlsbad Coastal Bike Cruise
There is something magical about riding along the coast, and historic Carlsbad showcases the classic California beach-town beautifully. Starting at the La Costa Resort & Spa, guests traverse along beautiful Batiquitos Lagoon en route to the beach. Batiquitos Lagoon is a coastal wetland north of San Diego between the cities of Carlsbad and Encinitas. It is one of the few remaining tidal wetlands on the southern California coast.
After approximately a relaxing 1½ hours of riding, with a few breaks along the way, and enjoying the Southern California weather, riders will stop to rest and appreciate the beautiful sights at the Carlsbad Historical Society & Park Garden. One of the most outstanding features of the garden is the nationally registered rose plantings the west side of the park. Visitors will find over 125 different roses that represent 15 different rose families. Development of these rose beds earned Carlsbad the honor of the American Rose Society's distinction of An American Rose City in 2002.
Shortly after the stop in Carlsbad, coastal breezes welcome riders as they reach the famed Pacific Coast Highway with its dedicated bike lanes and stunning scenery. Another break allows the opportunity to frolic briefly at the water’s edge before they begin the return trek along the coast.
Following the stop at the beach, guests will continue down the Pacific Coast Highway and begin the course to return to the hotel along the Batiquitos Lagoon, which will take approximately another 1½ hours.
The entire ride is approximately 15 miles of stunning San Diego sights, a journey that will be remembered in vignettes of spectacular views and refreshing salty breezes of the Pacific Ocean.
Price: $120 per person
Includes: Approximately 15 miles of memorable scenery highlighting canyons leading to the sea; current model, state of the art 21 & 24 speed Trek mountain bikes in a wide variety of sizes and configurations to suit the guests needs; a helmet (required) for each guest; narration by experienced tour guides; full support chase vehicle escort(s) carrying back-up bicycles, abundant water and refreshments, first-aid supplies, radio communications and cellular phone capabilities; personal water bottle(s) for each rider; and healthy refreshments and snacks.

Wednesday, June 26 | 1:30 - 5:00 p.m.
City Tour - San Diego Old & New
Guest will get an enjoyable introduction to San Diego with a city excursion. A year-round mild climate, seventy miles of beaches, a myriad of recreational activities, and world famous Zoo are just some of the reasons why San Diego has been deemed, “City with Sol”.
The tour begins with the Old Town State Historic Park, where San Diego began. The park recreates the setting of California life of the Spanish and early American periods. Its historic buildings, shops and restaurants illustrate the vast changes that have taken place in this city since it was first settled in 1769.
Afterwards, guests will be lead on drive through the newly restored Historic Gaslamp District and Embarcadero. The Embarcadero lines the San Diego Bay from the Maritime Museum, the ferry boat Berkeley and majestic Star of India to Seaport Village and the San Diego Convention Center.
The next stop is beautiful Balboa Park, one of America's largest municipal parks housing museums from the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition and the 1935 California Pacific International Exposition. It is the second largest collection of museums outside of Washington D.C. Balboa Park is also home to the world famous San Diego Zoo.
Price: $34 per person

Live the Adventure, Honor the Legend
ATTENTION!!! ALL HANDS ON DECK! Imagine becoming part of the crew of the longest-serving U.S. Navy aircraft carrier of the 20th century, the USS Midway! Today, the USS Midway Museum is America’s most-visited floating ship museum.
Guests will enjoy a unique, personalized tour led by Scott McGaugh, author of Midway Magic and Midway Memories.

Scott willl share Midway sailors’ deeply personal stories from the uncertain days following WWII, all the way through Operation Desert Storm when the USS Midway led naval flight ops.
After guests have completed their deployment with Scott, they “go on liberty” to explore the 60 different areas of the ship on a self-guided audio tour narrated by Midway sailors.

“I was pleasantly surprised in several ways. The setting was beautiful, the participants/members of NAMIC were very open and welcoming to a 'first-timer', the quality of the presentations was outstanding, and the NAMIC staff was great. Overall, the event really exceeded my expectations when I think about other conferences I've attended, presented to, or exhibited at. This was a good value, time well-spent, and has engaged me to become involved. Thanks for a great experience.” -Randy Gerdes
