House Financial Services Committee Holds Hearing on Volcker Rule

The House Financial Services Committee held a hearing titled “Examining the Impact of the Volcker Rule on Markets, Businesses, Investors and Job Creation, Part II,” on Dec. 13, the second hearing on the proposed Volcker Rule that the committee has held this year. A part of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, the Volcker Rule prohibits federally insured banks from engaging in proprietary trading and from investing in certain hedge or private equity funds.
