Still Time to Help Protect the McCarran-Ferguson Act

The effort to repeal the McCarran-Ferguson limited antitrust exemption continues to wax and wane – and then wax again. The last heated battle occurred in 2007 when we successfully fought efforts by Rep. Gene Taylor, D-Miss., and Sen. Trent Lott, R-Miss., to punish the property/casualty insurance industry by repealing the McCarran-Ferguson Act for what they perceived as a mishandling of claims after the 2005 hurricane season.
